University owls

One day this spring, I noticed a beautiful Horned Owl by the building where I work:

Not long after, two fluffy babies appeared:

A juvenile stares down at me
Fallen feather. Note the camouflage patterns and soft-fringed edge for silent flight
Another youngster that showed up a day after the others



A raven approaches (before pulling the owl's tail)

The young owl ended up on the ground, but I think it got back up a tree after a few hours
