University owls

One day this spring, I noticed a beautiful Horned Owl by the building where I work:

Not long after, two fluffy babies appeared:

A juvenile stares down at me
Fallen feather. Note the camouflage patterns and soft-fringed edge for silent flight
Another youngster that showed up a day after the others

A raven approaches (before pulling the owl's tail)

The young owl ended up on the ground, but I think it got back up a tree after a few hours

Tiny beaky babies

A series of photos taken this April and May, showing the development of two minuscule baby hummingbirds:
Look closely

Just fledged

Possibly one of the babies, a few days later;
it was making the tiniest squeaking noise I have ever heard
