Out of the nest

Today is a big day for the baby mockingbirds!

There's a third baby, too! (Note the differently patterned feathers in each photo)

Understandably enough, the adult mockers have been a bit agitated and swoopy.

Mocker nest

The babies are getting bigger, fuzzier, and louder every day:

More fledgelings

These little birds probably emerged from a tree cavity nest, where I have previously seen adult bluebirds entering, departing, and chasing away birds and squirrels.

Salt marsh moth

I found this adorable fuzzy moth on the sidewalk, alive but lethargic from the damp drizzle, and lifted it up onto a railing where it wouldn't get stepped on.
