  1. Flammarion seems to have been influenced by Henri Rousseau; that's very reminiscent of his Jungle Sunset.

  3. It's very familiar to me, as a few years ago I helped Clare (Mrs Girvan) to paint a Rousseau-themed backdrop for her production of The Admirable Crichton (see here, and image detail).
